Recce Log Privacy Policy

Recce Log is an iOS production-planning and location-scouting application developed by Content Dept LLC.
Recce Log is designed to keep production information under your control on your iPhone. Content Dept LLC does not operate a Recce Log cloud-storage service, require a Recce Log account, use third-party advertising technology, or sell personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is stored, processed, transmitted, and handled when you use Recce Log or request Recce Log support.
1. Who is responsible for information
Content Dept LLC, a United States limited liability company, is responsible for personal information that Content Dept actually receives through Recce Log support, purchase administration, privacy requests, and related communications.
Content Dept does not receive or control projects, location records, production notes, photos, recordings, checklists, roster contacts, or other content stored locally inside Recce Log unless you intentionally include that information in a support request, export, or other communication.
If you enter information about clients, crew members, property contacts, talent, or other people, you are responsible for having an appropriate legal basis or permission to use that information.
2. Information stored on your device
Depending on the features you use, Recce Log may store the following information locally on your iPhone:
Project and client names
Production dates, call times, and scheduling details
Locations, addresses, and precise coordinates
Scout dates and location notes
Contact information
Photos and reference images
Short ambient recordings and sound measurements
Connectivity-test results
Emergency-services information
Checklists, statuses, notes, and releases
Creative Roster profiles and crew assignments
Location Bucket records
App settings and preferences
This information remains inside Recce Log unless you intentionally export, share, or include it in a support request.
Content Dept cannot remotely view, retrieve, edit, or delete information stored only on your device.
Deleting a record removes that record and its associated local media where applicable. Clearing the app’s cache removes disposable generated files, not saved Recce Log records. Deleting Recce Log from your iPhone removes locally stored app content.
App updates normally preserve locally stored content.
3. Device backups
Depending on your Apple and device settings, iOS may include Recce Log data in an iCloud Backup or a backup made to a computer.
These backups are controlled by you and Apple. Content Dept cannot access, manage, or delete information stored in your Apple backups.
4. Device permissions
Recce Log may request access to the following device features:
Camera: To capture location and production photos
Photos: To use images you select
Location: To capture coordinates and an available street address
Microphone: To create short ambient recordings and relative sound measurements
You may decline these permissions and continue using features that do not require them. Permissions can be reviewed or changed through the iOS Settings app.
Recce Log does not continuously monitor your location, camera, or microphone.
5. Information transmitted from your device
Connectivity testing
If you choose to run a connectivity test, Recce Log sends download, upload, and latency requests to Cloudflare.
Cloudflare may receive your IP address, routing information, network configuration information, timing information, and other standard network metadata required to perform the test.
When Data Saver is enabled, a connectivity test is designed to transfer approximately 7.5 MB. If Data Saver is disabled, a full test may transfer up to approximately 65 MB.
Recce Log does not send your projects, contacts, photos, recordings, notes, coordinates, or roster information to Cloudflare. Test results remain stored locally.
Nearby emergency services
If you select Refresh Emergency Services, Recce Log sends an Apple Maps search for hospitals and police stations around the coordinates saved for that location.
Apple may receive the search terms, search region, saved coordinates, and standard request information required to return results.
Recce Log may locally save the selected service’s name, address, phone number, coordinates, distance, and update date. Search results may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated and can be edited inside the app.
Support and privacy requests
If you submit the Recce Log support form, Content Dept may receive:
Your name
The email address you enter
Your selected issue type
Your iPhone model
Your iOS version
Your Recce Log version
Your subject and message
Attachments or other information you choose to provide
Content Dept uses this information to respond to your request, investigate technical problems, administer privacy requests, improve Recce Log, prevent misuse, and maintain appropriate support records.
Do not include confidential client information, private production materials, passwords, payment-card details, or other information that is unnecessary for resolving your request.
The support form is provided through the Content Dept website. Website, form-processing, hosting, security, and communications providers may process the information needed to deliver your submission to Content Dept.
Optional communications
If you separately choose to subscribe to news or product updates, Content Dept may use the contact information you provide for that purpose. You may withdraw that choice using the unsubscribe method included with those communications or by submitting a request through the Recce Log support form.
Submitting a support or privacy request does not by itself require you to subscribe to marketing communications.
Exports and sharing
When you use Apple’s sharing interface, you choose the recipient, service, and information to send.
Exports may contain production information, contact information, photos, notes, precise coordinates, or other content you selected. Once information is shared, it is handled according to the recipient’s practices and the privacy terms of the selected service.
Map links
Recce Log may generate links for Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze. Generating a link does not contact those services.
Opening a map link sends the location information contained in that link to the selected provider. That information is then handled according to the provider’s privacy policy.
Apple services
Apple distributes Recce Log, processes App Store transactions, provides TestFlight and device services, operates MapKit, and may provide aggregate usage, crash, transaction, or diagnostic information depending on your Apple settings.
Content Dept does not receive complete payment-card information from Apple.
6. How Content Dept uses information
Content Dept may use information it actually receives to:
Respond to support, feedback, and privacy requests
Diagnose defects and performance problems
Maintain and improve Recce Log
Administer purchases and related records
Prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
Maintain business, accounting, and legal records
Comply with applicable legal obligations
Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims
Content Dept does not use Recce Log information for third-party advertising, behavioral profiling, or automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
7. Legal bases for processing
Where European, United Kingdom, or Swiss data-protection law applies, Content Dept may rely on the following legal bases:
Performance of a contract to provide Recce Log, purchased features, and requested support
Legitimate interests in securing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving Recce Log
Consent for optional permissions, transmissions, or communications where required
Compliance with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations
The establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims
Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.
8. Disclosure of information
Content Dept may disclose information it actually receives:
To service providers supporting app distribution, website hosting, form processing, communications, support, security, and business records
When required by valid legal process or applicable law
When reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, security threats, unlawful conduct, or potential harm
In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of business assets
At your direction or with your consent
Service providers acting on Content Dept’s behalf are expected to process information only for authorized purposes and to apply appropriate confidentiality and security protections.
Apple, Cloudflare, Google Maps, Waze, and other services you independently select may act under their own privacy policies.
9. Retention and deletion
Information stored locally in Recce Log remains on your device until you delete the applicable record or remove the app.
Copies may remain in an iCloud or computer backup until that backup is replaced or deleted through your Apple settings. Content Dept cannot access or remotely delete those backups.
Support and feedback correspondence is ordinarily retained for up to 24 months after the request is resolved. Information may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, accounting obligations, or legal claims.
Privacy-request records may be retained when necessary to document compliance with applicable law.
Purchase, transaction, accounting, and legal records are retained as required by law and legitimate business obligations.
10. Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request:
Access to personal information Content Dept holds about you
Correction of inaccurate information
Deletion of information
Restriction of certain processing
Objection to certain processing
Portability of eligible information
Withdrawal of consent
Information about how personal information is collected, used, and disclosed
Equal treatment when exercising applicable privacy rights
Content Dept does not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Content Dept may need to verify your identity or authority before completing a request. If Content Dept does not possess the requested information because it exists only on your device, you will be informed of that limitation.
You can directly view, edit, export, or delete locally stored Recce Log content through the app’s controls. You can manage device backups through your Apple settings.
Residents of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland may also have the right to complain to their local data-protection authority.
11. Security
Recce Log uses Apple’s app sandbox and iOS security controls to separate locally stored app data from other applications.
Content Dept uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards for information it receives. However, no device, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Protect your iPhone with a passcode, keep iOS updated, and use appropriate care when exporting or sharing confidential production information.
12. Children’s privacy
Recce Log is a professional production tool and is not directed to children under 13.
Content Dept does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through Recce Log. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to Content Dept, submit a Privacy or data request through the Recce Log support form.
13. International processing
Content Dept is based in the United States.
If you submit information from another country, that information may be processed in the United States and in other locations where relevant service providers operate.
Where required, international transfers are supported by recognized legal safeguards, provider commitments, adequacy decisions, contractual protections, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
14. Third-party privacy policies
Third-party services may process information under their own privacy policies:

Other recipients and services receive information only when you choose to interact with or share information through them.
Recce Log does not currently include third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral advertising SDKs, social-media tracking SDKs, or a Content Dept cloud-storage service.
15. Changes to this policy
Content Dept may update this Privacy Policy when Recce Log’s features, providers, or legal obligations change.
The revised policy will display a new Last updated date. Material changes will be communicated through the app, website, App Store listing, or another appropriate method when required.
